Dave Scott is an American journalist, meteorologist, and Jazz trombonist. Currently, he is working as a meteorologist and feature reporter at KUSI-TV in San Diego, California. Scott joined the station in 1992 and on August 3, 2020, he celebrated his 28 years at KUSI. He briefly spoke about the 28-year milestone and how he loves bringing the weather to the San Diego community.
Hunter Sowards is an American multimedia journalist and anchor. Currently, she serves as an anchor and reporter at KUSI-TV based in San Diego, California. Hunter joined KUSI in September 2019 from the Piney Woods of East Texas KTRE-TV. At KTRE, she served as the main 6 and 10 o’clock anchor which she joined in May of 2016.
Paul Rudy is an American journalist and anchor. Currently, he works as a sports anchor at KUSI-TV in San Diego, California. Rudy joined the KUSI team in the spring of 1998. His broadcasting career spanned eight cities and three decades. Rudy is a producer of award-winning programs with a focus on local sports coverage. Rudy, as the headmaster behind KUSI’s Prep Pigskin Report, has grown the once three-employee and intern-run show into a production of 65 “Pigs.”
Dan Plante is an American journalist, anchor, and reporter. Currently, he serves as an anchor and reporter at KUSI TV in San Diego since 1987. Before Kusi, Dan worked at CNN. He has a rich history in the news business as his grandfather was a pioneer of live radio and his mother served in Mutual Radio and hosted a morning show on a Milwaukee TV Station. Dan’s father is a 47-year veteran of CBS News, 33 as a White House correspondent.
Lauren Phinney is an American journalist and anchor. Currently, she serves as the Good Morning San Diego anchor at KUSI-TV in San Diego, California. Previously, she served as a news anchor at WWSB in Sarasota, Tampa, Florida, market. There, Lauren anchored the evening news. She reported on medical breakthroughs and the 2012 Presidential election as well as did extensive coverage on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Francella Perez is a Costa Rican-American journalist and meteorologist. Currently, she works as the morning meteorologist at KUSI-TV in San Diego, California. For 13 years, Perez has worked both producing and presenting weather forecasts in Los Angeles for Mundo Fox and Telemundo. She served as co-host of Mundo Fox’s, entertainment show “Viva el 22” and Telemundo’s morning show “Acceso Total”.
Mark Mathis is an American journalist and TV personality. Currently, he serves as a meteorologist for KUSI TV based in San Diego, California. In early June 2014, Mathis joined KUSI-TV as a featured anchor. Previously, he was working at KTSM-TV in El Paso, TX as a weekday morning meteorologist since 2011. Mathis is also renowned for his unorthodox, diverse, and high-energy approach to weather forecasting and his rousing performances in public speaking.
Kacey McKinnon is an American journalist and news reporter. Currently, she reports Good Morning San Diego at KUSI News. In late 2019, Kacey joined on Good Morning San Diego as a live field reporter on the weekend broadcasts. Additionally, she continues to report stories on Good Morning San Diego five days a week.
Anna Laurel is an American journalist, anchor, and reporter. Currently, she is working as a co-anchor at 4, 5 & 6 PM at KUSI-TV in San Diego, California. Anna is excited to be back in California where she used to work earlier in her career, and where she also met her husband. She joined KUSI TV in 2018 and co-anchors newscasts with Logan Byrnes and Ginger Jeffries and the KUSI 10:00 PM newscast with Logan Byrnes.
Ginger Jeffries is an American journalist, news anchor, and reporter. Currently, she works as a morning news anchor and reporter at KUSI News Station in San Diego, California. Ginger joined the station in February 2018. She graduating with a degree in Journalism and commenced her broadcast career anchoring in Eureka, California. Ginger then moved to Palm Springs, where she served her community at ABC and NBC network affiliates for more than 20 years.
