Alex Whittler is an American Emmy award-winning journalist who anchors FOX5 Atlanta’s weekday noon newscasts. She also co-hosts FOX5 Atlanta’s Black History Month special annually and has been on the front lines of some of the Metro’s biggest stories. Alex joined FOX5 Atlanta in January 2020 after spending two years and two months as an Anchor and Reporter at NBC12 – WWBT.

She also conducts live interviews when filling in on the 9 and 10 am talk and entertainment shows. Moreover, she hosts WAGA-TV’s Black History Month special annually. Before joining FOX 5, Alex worked for NBC 12 Raycom as a Weekend Reporter in Richmond, Virginia from October 2017 to November 2019.
While there, she covered breaking news events such as the historic and deadly tornadoes that were caused by Hurricane Florence. In Addition, she worked as a fill-in co-anchor for weekday shows as well as a fill-in host for, 12 About Town Today, WWBT’s weekday talk show. She began her career in Chicago, Illinois working in all but one television newsroom in the city. Alex worked as a News Anchor and Reporter for WLUW 88.7 FM in Chicago from January 2014 to May 2014.
As a student at Loyola University’s radio station, WLUW, she used to Select, write, and deliver stories as well as operate the soundboard. Other stations Alex worked in Chicago were, NBC Chicago where worked as an Investigative Intern and Overnight Morning News Intern, WGN-TV, worked as a Morning News Intern, and CBS News where he worked as an intern.
Alex is a two-time Emmy-winning reporter for her outstanding work of covering stories and reports. In addition, she has received numerous honors including the Beta Rho Honors Society, Golden Key National Honor Society, and Medill School of Journalism Class of 2017 Graduation Speaker.
