Karlene Chavis is an American journalist and meteorologist. She is currently the News 8 CBS Chief Meteorologist based in San Diego California. Karlene delivers weeknight forecasts on NEWS 8 on CBS 8 and The CW San Diego. She joined the station from WSVN-TV in Miami, FL. While in Miami, Karlene worked as the weekend morning meteorologist and was named the ‘Best Meteorologist’ by Miami New Times.

Marcella has covered various stories including the October 2007 and May 2015 wildfires.

She came to KFMB from Fox 29 TV in Philadelphia, where she was serving as a Television News Reporter until December 2013. Previously, Kelly was working as a Television News Reporter at CBS Philly|KYW-TV since June 1013.
