He was awarded for his outstanding achievement in “continuing coverage” for his series, “Inside the Middle East.”
Ken was also honored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with 15 Emmy nominations. In 1988, Ken covered Hurricane Iniki, the most powerful hurricane to strike Hawaii in recorded history. He also traveled to the Mojave Desert when it was designated a National Park Preserve.
