Kyle Kraska is an American journalist working for KTTV Fox 11 News in Los Angeles, CA. He joined the network’s news team in August 2021 and currently serves as a chief sports anchor. Previously, Kyle worked for KFMB-TV CBS 8 in San Diego, California as a sports anchor and sports director.
He worked with the station for 21 years and 10 months from September 1999 to June 2021. While at KFMB-TV, Kyle was honored with six Emmy Awards s an anchor and reporter. Furthermore, he obtained the Golden Mic and New York State Broadcasters Awards. Kyle has also worked as a sports anchor, sports director, and sports reporter for ABC in El Paso, KVIA-TV in Texas, WRGB-TV in New York, CBS in Albany, and WFTS-TV in Florida.

He was attacked in his San Diego home on February 10, 2015, while pulling out of his driveway on his way to work. Mike Montana, fired 20 bullets from his 9mm handgun with six of them going right through Kyle. Two shots that were fired through his chest penetrated through his lung and liver. As a result of the attack, Kyle spent a week in a coma and was announced dead twice. Moreover, he needed 14 units of blood for him to stay alive.
The attack was caused by a dispute between him and Mike, a painter whom he had hired to paint outside his house. The two had parted months before the incident and Mike began leaving threat notes on Kyle’s doormat. Kyle has since recovered from the incident and founded the Celebration of Heroes Blood Drives and KK’s Heroes in collaboration with the American Red Cross.
He makes sure to donate blood to save life. As for the attacker Mike Montana, he was charged with attempted murder and sentenced to life imprisonment plus 25 years with the probability of parole.
