In college, Kylen served as a producer and anchor for the school’s TV station. She also called basketball and volleyball games for the radio station. Kylen also hosted a radio show, taking part in various community service projects, and wrote for the school newspaper. While still in college, Kylen interned at ABC 7 News (WLS-TV) in Chicago in January 2011. She later served behind the scenes through a student-program at MTV Digital in New York City and at WGN-TV in Chicago.
