In addition, Norwood has dealt with historic flooding, record snowfall as well as record heat during her tenure at Fox 8. Prior to joining FOX 8, WVUE, she was at Clear Channel Memphis working as a meteorologist from 2005 to 2007.
She began her career in 1999 as a meteorologist in WAKA-TV, the CBS affiliate, in Montgomery, Alabama. While there she started as a weekend Mereorogist for almost 6 years before she became a weekday morning meteorologist. In addition, during her time in WAKA, she covered Hurricane Ivan that kept them on the air for 48 hours with a non-stop 16-hour stretch. In 2005, Norwood moved to Memphis to work with WPTY/WLMT as a weekend meteorologist. While there, She covered another Hurricane Katrina that kept that them going up there as well to provide information for evacuees and moving with it as the storm still moved through North Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
