He is a weatherman for Weekend Today in New York and a fill-in meteorologist for weekday newscasts. Raphael also hosts Trivia of Saturday Today in New York. Furthermore, Raphael is a member of the American Meteorological Society.

Raphael joined NBC 4 New York as an intern in 2007 and then moved to production and on-air roles. While there, he experienced and forecasted many extreme weather conditions. He also reported on the 2011 Halloween snowstorm that left Tri-state people without power and the Blizzard of 2016. Currently, Raphael is serving as a meteorologist for NBC 4 New York.

As a meteorologist, he covered Superstorm Sandy in 2012 and earned an Emmy. He was also part of the wall-to-wall Sandy coverage team that kept people updated and had his first Emmy on Hurricane Irene coverage. Furthermore, he frequently appears on MSNBC, The TODAY Show, NBC Nightly News, Early TODAY, Weekend TODAY, and CNBC World. Before NBC, Raphael taught English to children in school for two years and also worked as a store manager at Madison Ave.
