Kristen Cornett is an American journalist and meteorologist. Currently, she serves as a Meteorologist at KMOV News 4. Cornett joined the 4Warn Storm Team in October 2007, where she reports the weather for the morning, early evening, and late evening newscasts on Saturday and Sunday.
Before, Cornett worked as a meteorologist at WLWT-TV from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, se worked as a meteorologist at WHAS-TV. She began her career as a meteorologist and served with CBS as an affiliate. Cornett joined the national weather Association of America in the year 1999.

Early Life And Education
Cornett was adopted at birth by her adoptive mother Jeanette, and adoptive father, Otis. She was raised along with her younger sister Sarah who was also adopted. Unfortunately, Cornett’s adoptive mum passed on in 1993 when she was 19 years old. She also has three half-biological sisters; Rebecca, Amy, and Jill who were all put for adoption by her biological mother.
Furthermore, Cornett has two half-brothers, Tim and Nathan, from her dad’s biological side. While growing up, severe weather fascinated Cornett at a young age. She would be dragged inside by her parents when she was on the front porch during the storms. Cornett also loved to learn about Volcanoes, hurricanes, and Earthquakes.
She attended Tates Creek High School. Subsequently, Cornett received her degree in GeoScience with an emphasis in Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Cornett and her boyfriend Steve Knapp exchanged their wedding vows in 2012. It was an exquisite outdoor wedding taking place at Chandler Hill Vineyards which is located 45 minutes west of downtown St. Louis.

Adoption
Cornett revealed that she was adopted by her parents where she grew up searching for her biological parents and siblings. She had posted their photos on Facebook. Through a DNA test in 2019, she reconnected with two of her biological sisters. Growing up, Cornett had an interest in which biological relative she resembled, and pondered where her attributes originated from. In her mid-20s, she connected with the state of Kentucky and contacted her biological mother. A couple of years after, her biological sister, Amy, found her. Amy and Cornett became close. She also attended Amy’s wedding and the stay in contact.
Cornett wanted to know more about her family line and took a 23andMe DNA test. She found out about her heritage and got a message from another 23andMe client Jill. Jill ended up being Cornett and Amy’s sister that neither of them knew about. They discovered through records that there was an older sister. Every one of them was adopted by various families in different Kentucky urban communities within a five-year time frame.
