After the election, during one of Trump’s visits to Pittsburgh, Jon interviewed him briefly. He was also invited to the White House to interview members of Trump’s Cabinet. He was the only local TV journalist to join the President’s motorcade to cover his visit to the Tree of Life Synagogue.
During the 2020 campaign, Jon had four interviews with President Joe Biden. During the campaign, he interviewed Vice President Pence and many other Democratic officials such as Mayor Pete Buttigieg. Jon also volunteers for some community organizations. Jon received the Edward R. Morrow Award for the best “hard news” story in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. He also won the Small Business Journalist Champion of the Year award from the U.S. Small Business Administration, among others.
