Mary Ann Ahern is an American journalist and reporter. She serves as a Political Reporter at NBC since joining in 2006 in Chicago. Ahern joined the station in March 1989. She has covered political campaigns from the White House to Springfield to Chicago. Ahern witnessed the transitions from Mayor Richard Daley to Mayor Lori Lightfoot and traveled through the primary states for the 2008, 2012, 2016 presidential campaigns.
Kate Chappell is an American journalist and reporter. Currently, she is the Weekend Morning anchor and a General Assignment Reporter at NBC 5 since joining in December 2018. Previously, Kate worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she anchored the nightly newscast at the CBS affiliate.

Prior to joining NBC 5, Lisa spent 5 years serving as a reporter and fill-in anchor at the FOX affiliate in Chicago. She commenced her career at WPBN-TV in Traverse City, Michigan. Lisa then worked at WTVF-TV in Nashville, Tennessee, and later left for KHOU-TV in Houston, Texas.

Rob Stafford (Full name: Robert R. Stafford) is an American journalist and television anchor. Currently, he anchors at NBC5 WMAQ-TV 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts. Stafford joined WMAQ-TV in Chicago as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter on September 23, 2007. He became the main anchor position in July 2009.
Michelle Relerford (Full name: Michelle Relerford Okafor) is an American journalist and anchor. Currently, she serves as the Weekday Morning Co-Anchor of News Today at NBC 5 based in Chicago. Michelle is also a reporter and fill-in anchor who joined NBC 5 in September 2011. She was an intern at NBC Chicago’s investigative unit while in college. Michelle started her reporting job at WNDU in South Bend, Ind., followed by WEWS in Ohio, Cleveland. She served as a reporter at both stations.
