Lisa Chavarria is an American journalist and reporter. Currently, she serves as a general assignment reporter at NBC 5 since joining the team in June of 2017. Prior to joining NBC 5, Lisa spent 5 years serving as a reporter and fill-in anchor at the FOX affiliate in Chicago. She commenced her career at WPBN-TV in Traverse City, Michigan. Lisa then worked at WTVF-TV in Nashville, Tennessee, and later left for KHOU-TV in Houston, Texas.
She enjoys running along the lakefront and has documented training for her first marathon. In 2018, Lisa became an official finisher of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. She said that she will make another attempt in 2019, and raise money and awareness for the American Diabetes Association.
