Lesley Stahl (Full name: Lesley Rene Stahl) is an American journalist, host, and anchor. She has mostly been with CBS News, where she started as a producer in 1971. Since 1991, Stahl has reported for CBS’s 60 Minutes. She is famous for her news and television investigations and reporting.
Prior to joining 60 Minutes, Stahl worked as a CBS News White House correspondent. For her body of work, Stahl has earned various awards such as a Lifetime Achievement News and Documentary Emmy Award in 2003. She gained media attention in 2020 following her interview with President Trump in which he stopped and walked out of the interview due to his objections to her warning him about “tough questions” that he believed were inappropriate.

Stahl’s father owned a leather-finishing company called Stahl Finish in Lynn, Mass. Additionally, she also has one brother named Jeffrey Stahl. She was married to her husband Aaron Latham from February 17, 1977 until his death on July 23, 2022. Stahl’s husband was an American screenwriter and journalist popular for Perfect (1985), Urban Cowboy (1980), and The Program (1993). She and her husband shared a daughter Taylor Stahl Latham.
Aaron was famous for writing an article that inspired the movie Urban Cowboy starring John Travolta. He also co-wrote the screenplay. Unfortunately, Stahl’s spouse passed on in July 2022 at the age of 78 years following complications of Parkinson’s disease.
This is not the first time that Stahl has been married. She was formerly married to Jeffrey Gordon between 1964 to 1967. On May 3, 2020, Stahl revealed that she had been infected with COVID-19 but she has since recovered.

Lesley joined CBS in 1971 as a reporter. As a newbie, she was sent to cover the 1972 Watergate Complex to cover the arrest of some men who had broken into one of the buildings in the complex. She was the only Tv reporter covering the early court appearances. Furthermore, she was able to identify the five and asked the cameraman to get pictures of the burglars. Therefore, CBS was the only network to get pictures of the burglars. Thus, Stahl was a hero at the bureau.
